It give it to the Reds for now but if you have seen the same performances I've seen lately I would be worried



In summation I make my rankings by stats and eye test and The Cardinals will get Chris Carpenter and Jon Jay back soon. Reds fans only seem worried with what the Cardinals do every night but as I type they sit tied with the Pirates.

I know it's easier to knitpick something like this, and look for a slight againgst your team. So I don't want to be that guy. I was just surprised, because even Buster Olney had the Reds as his 5th best team before last nights bukkake.

I agree the Reds have laid some eggs the past two series, so now isn't the best time to defend them. But given the fact that the Cards played out of their minds to start the season off, and are still behind the Reds and Pirates tells you that they aren't as good as some people think.

However, I do agree that the Reds lack of any situational hitting in addition to the retardery of their sweatbanded manager does hold them back alot.

I agree that the Cards have underperformed for the last month or so but every team goes through stretches of inconsistency. Over the course of a 162 game season the best team tends to win, and to paraphrase Charlie Kelly, "The cream always rises to the top, and the Cardinals are gonna show you the white hot cream of an 8th grade boy." I just look at their roster and I still see a pretty good team. Kinda like how bad the Angels started out this year but everyone knew they weren't that bad and now they have completely righted the ship. I just think if they are hanging around at the all-star break and they get Carpenter, Jay, and Garcia back I think they will take off. And don't sleep on the Brewers. Only 4.5 back and playing a lot better.
