6. Drafting
a. 2012 Draft
The 2012 Draft will be unique draft to the rest you will encounter in the League of Xtraordinaty Gentlemen. Each returning manager will have the opportunity to retain up to 10 players from their roster the previous season. Draft order will be determined as any other draft will be in this league, however, this particular draft will snake. Draft spots held by returning managers will be retained. Draft spots taken over by new managers will be a blind draw between all new members. We will have a 12 hour draft time MON-FRI and a 6 hour draft time on Saturday and Sunday. Failure to make a pick in time will result in being skipped. Being skipped on consecutive turns without notifying the commissioner is grounds for removal from the league. Also, being skipped 3 or more times during the entire draft will result in being replaced.
b. Rookie Drafts
Each year we will have a 10 round Rookie/FA draft. Any player not on a current roster is eligible to be drafted.
c. Order
Draft order will be determined by the previous season's final standings. The first 10 picks will go to regular season places 16 through 7. Picks 11-16 will be determined by the finish of each team in the playoffs, not by where they finished in the regular season.
d. Times
As with the 2012 draft, all managers have upto 12 hours from the time the previous manager picked to make their next selection on the days of Monday through Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays managers have 6 hours. If you cannot make these times a list MUST BE SENT TO THE COMMISSIONER!
e. Trading
All picks are eligible to be traded. (Note: Draft picks exceeding 3 years in advance are ineligible to be traded.)
f. Eligibility
Any player not on a current roster may be selected. However, the drafted player MUST be affiliated with a real professional ball club. No high school or college players may be drafted!
